Researchers from the University of Maryland and Google DeepMind analysed more than 61,000 stories and found that AI-generated fiction can be distinguished by its underlying narrative structure.

The findings will help improve AI detection tools. And at exactly the same time, those same findings will be used to make AI write in more human ways. The detector improves. The generator improves. Again. And again. An infinite loop.
